Developing inquiry and reflection skills in student-teachers: The use of educational action research

Abstract: In this paper, I present a study I have been conducting for two years in the University of Athens, as part of the undergraduate course “The teacher as a researcher”, on the reflective orientation of student-teacher education and the ways student-teachers interpret the reflective process they experience. The paper consists of three parts. The first part presents the theoretical framework of the course. The second part attempts to describe roughly the course, focusing on the parameters governing its reflective perspective. The third part presents the results of the study I conducted by analyzing the student-teachers’ journals.
