The contribution of action research in the introduction of historical education in kindergarten

Abstract

This article refers to «action research» as a scientific methodology and educational practice and an important factor through which the relationship of historical education with the contemporary pre-school is realized. "Action research" offers important tools for the observation and evaluation of educational programs of historical orientation, the enrichment and refreshing of content and the educational standards and methods whereby educators approach the historical past in pre-school education. This article raises questions about the identity of historical education as part of the pedagogical process in kindergarten. It focuses certain features of «action research» (such as its collaborative and participative character as well as its formative and reflexive functions and on specific examples of which link research to educational practice. It concludes that the «action research» contributes, in many ways, to the integration of history as a social science with the educational process in the kindergarten and enables educators to explore further methods and ideas into their work.
